My Cool New Job

One of my favorite pics of Pittsburgh
I'm employed by the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Sports Medicine & Nutrition.  They are contracted through the Department of Defense to conduct research on injury prevention in the military.  I'll be working at the Naval Special Warfare Human Performance Laboratory in Coronado, CA.  Basically, I get to work with the Navy SEALs & SWCC.  Super cool, right?

Before I officially move to San Diego, however, I am going to be doing a LOT of traveling between San Diego, Pittsburgh, & Mississippi (yeah...Mississippi...), for orientation and training.  I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures, but I will do my best to take pictures & chronicle the fun happenings of starting my new job.

  1. You say it so perfectly. I always explain it as, "Darcie will be working for the Navy...not really, but sort of...but actually it's for University of Pittsburgh, but in San Diego. And it's not just the Navy, it's the SEALs. Whatever. Either way, it sounds awesome!"

I'll just refer to your blog from now on. I'm so excited for you!!

  2. It's been a year since you made this post, Darcie. How are you now? I hope you were able to do a lot of research to help soldiers avoid or alleviate injuries during battle. That is really cool! Helping our country and our people is one big awesome job! I hope you’re happy with what you’re doing, and I hope you keep up the good work.
